Rest of the day at leisure.

Ajlun Nature Reserve and Roman City of Jerash
Route to the Ajlun Nature Reserve, amid a magnificent landscape planted with olive trees. 2-hour hike amid pistachio trees, oaks and wildflowers to a hill offering spectacular views of Tiberias and Judea.
About fifty kilometers north of Amman, Jerash, known in ancient times as Gerasa, is one of the most extraordinary Roman cities and one of the best preserved in the Near East. Founded over 6,500 years ago, the Romans took control in 63 BC and it became one of the ten cities of the Roman Decapolis. With its numerous remains testifying to a glorious past, it is surpassed only by Petra as a major attraction in Jordanie. You explore the city in the company of a local English-speaking guide (private tour of approximately 2 hours).

Al Mujib and Dana Reserves
Morning drive to the Wadi Mujib Nature Reserve. Straddling the shores of the Dead Sea (-400 m altitude) and the highlands of Kerak and Madaba (900 m altitude), this reserve, the lowest in the world, offers a wide variety of landscapes and ecosystems. It is crossed by impressive gorges and valleys, the most important being that of Wadi Al Mujib, and some so difficult to access that they constitute protected habitats for several rare animal species. You explore the reserve during a hiking trip lasting 2 to 3 hours from the Dead Sea shores through mountain gorges and waterfalls.
Mujib Biosphere Reserve → Dana
Continuation southward to the Dana Nature Reserve. Arrival in the village of Dana and a short one-hour walk on the heights of the village. The views are spectacular. Opportunity to meet farmers in their terraced gardens and visit a craft center.
Accommodation for dinner and the night in an ecological lodge.

Dana Reserve and Heading to Petra
The Dana Nature Reserve is a true paradise for nature lovers and open space enthusiasts. Its arid appearance conceals great biodiversity. From the rift valley to the desert expanses of Wadi Araba, steep mountains and valleys succeed one another, harboring exceptional fauna and flora. Thousand-year-old rock paintings testify to the very ancient settlement of the region. The morning is devoted to a long guided hike exploring the reserve. A great moment of rejuvenation in the midst of these immense majestic spaces. It is time to continue south. You stop a short distance north of Petra to visit the Shobak Fortress, built in the early 12th century, during the time of the Crusades, by the King of Jerusalem Baldwin I. Also called Krak de Mont Real, its position overlooking the Arabah valley made it a strategic location for controlling trade routes between Egypt, Arabia and the Red Sea.

Legendary city of Petra
The entire day is dedicated to exploring the Pink City, the country's icon, a UNESCO World Heritage site, an exceptional place, monumental, shrouded in mystery, which will amaze you. You have an early breakfast to make the most of the site from its opening at 6am. Sometimes nicknamed the Lost City, built nearly 2000 years ago by the Nabataeans, "lost" to the West in the 14th century then rediscovered in the early 19th century by a Swiss traveler disguised as an Arab claiming to want to honor the tomb of the prophet Aaron, Petra is full of tombs, palaces, staircases, cave temples…
The spectacle is everywhere and enchants lovers of beautiful stone, History as well as artists, explorers or simple travelers. The magic works and emotions run high!
Visit with an English-speaking local guide in the morning (3 hours), then free afternoon.
Visit to Little Petra and the Siq el-Barid site, a Nabatean caravanserai and commercial hub, as well as the Neolithic remains of Beidah.

Arrival at Wadi Rum
You then head due south towards Wadi Rum, also called the Valley of the Moon. This enchanting and majestic desert made of dunes and rock formations in ochre tones had already captivated Lawrence of Arabia in its time. You take full measure of this landscape of sand, needles and ridges during a 3-hour 4x4 excursion, until the magical glow of sunset.
Check-in at the camp and free time to explore the surroundings. Typical dinner at the camp, Bedouin evening and night under Bedouin tents.

On the Shores of the Dead Sea
Head north and the mythic Dead Sea. At the borders of Jordanie, Israel and the West Bank, welcome to the lowest point on Earth ! The place is ideal for relaxing at the end of your stay, since beyond its exceptional altitude of -417m, its salinity is such (27.5%) that you float there! A unique experience in this vast body of water where no fish or even algae can survive.

Have a great trip!
